Job Summary:
Labor and Delivery Nurse (L & D) The organization is seeking a qualified RN to provide specialized nursing care in the Labor and Delivery Department. This role involves managing goal-directed care for laboring patients using the nursing process and principles of primary nursing, adhering to hospital policies and standards of practice. The position requires delivering compassionate patient care during nights on 12-hour shifts at an acute care setting.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 12-hour night shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week
• Required Qualifications: Active Alaska State RN license; at least 2 years of recent Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum (LDRP) experience; certifications including Advanced Fetal Monitoring, Basic Life Support (BLS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), and STABLE; must complete medication testing within first two weeks of assignment
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Meditech and OBIX computer systems; prior experience in a similar high-acuity OB department
• Float: Float: Float rotation may be required.
• Additional Information: Responsibilities include utilizing equipment such as Meditech, OBIX, Pyxis Supply Stations, bedside fetal monitors, and adhering to departmental policies. The unit comprises 4 Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum rooms, and 5 Nursery beds. The nurse-to-patient ratio aligns with national standards based on patient needs and labor progression. Orientation includes 3 days of Meditech and OBIX training, plus unit-specific onboarding.
