Veterinary Receptionist (20hrs/Mat Leave)

We are seeking an organised, personable Receptionist to join our team at Spring Lodge, Witham on a part-time fixed-term basis to cover maternity leave.

How You’ll Make a Difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Working Pattern

* Working 20 hours a week, varied shifts to cover business hours 7:45am/8am - 7pm/7:15pm, working 1 in 4 Saturdays, flexibility in hours and location is needed.

Key Responsibilities

* Greeting clients in a professional, friendly and courteous manner * Answering phone calls promptly and handling enquiries efficiently * Booking, cancelling and managing appointments * Taking cash and card payments * Processing insurance claims and instalment enquiries * Handling cash reconciliation and end-of-day banking procedures * Dispensing medications and prescriptions * Maintaining accurate client and patient records * Managing and responding to clinic emails * Completing daily administrative paperwork (lab reports, consent forms, vaccination documents, etc.) * Ensuring reception areas, client information and retail products are well stocked and presentable * Liaising with charities regarding collection boxes * Attending reception team meetings when required
