Our Marketing Coordinator plays an important role in telling our story, strengthening engagement with current and prospective families and ensuring our marketing reflects the children, educators, families and communities within our services.
The role also supports Making Education, our professional learning business delivering training and development to the early childhood sector.
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced, creative and highly motivated Marketing Coordinator to coordinate and deliver marketing activities across KingKids and Making Education.
This hands-on role combines digital marketing, content creation, paid advertising, market research, brand management, data analysis and stakeholder engagement.
You'll regularly engage with our early learning services, Centre Directors, educators and management team to understand each community and turn stories, insights and opportunities into meaningful marketing.
You'll manage organic social media, paid Meta and Google campaigns, resources, signage, merchandise, website content and performance reporting. Through Making Education, you'll also create marketing that engages educators, leaders and early childhood services with professional learning opportunities.
We're looking for someone who understands the early childhood environment and can communicate effectively with families and professionals while meeting child safety, privacy and professional responsibilities.
What You'll Be Doing
Social Media & Content- Manage organic Meta content and social media across six KingKids services and Making Education
- Develop and maintain social media and content calendars
- Regularly visit services to source authentic content
- Collaborate with Centre Directors, educators and management to identify stories and marketing opportunities
- Adapt content to reflect individual service communities
- Create engaging written, visual and digital content while maintaining each brand's identity
- Plan and manage paid advertising campaigns across Meta and Google
- Develop advertising creative, copy, audience targeting and campaign messaging
- Develop campaigns for prospective families, educators, professionals and early childhood services
- Create and update website and landing-page content to support campaigns
- Promote Making Education courses, webinars, training and professional development
- Monitor performance, test approaches and make data-informed adjustments
- Manage and update KingKids and Making Education website content
- Create and edit family handbooks, student resources and publications
- Develop signage, brochures, flyers and promotional materials
- Maintain brand identity and consistency across marketing channels
- Create, source and manage merchandise and promotional materials
- Coordinate with external suppliers where required
- Support the marketing and growth of Making Education
- Develop campaigns and content for educators, leaders and early childhood services
- Promote courses, webinars, training events and learning initiatives
- Develop organic and paid campaigns to increase awareness, engagement, enquiries and participation
- Support student-facing marketing collateral and resources
- Research professional learning needs, competitors and market opportunities
- Monitor website activity, enquiries, conversions and campaign performance
- Conduct market, competitor, demographic and audience research
- Prepare weekly and monthly marketing performance reports
- Analyse advertising, engagement, enquiry and conversion trends
- Use data to identify opportunities and recommend marketing improvements
- Present performance, insights and recommendations to management
- Research and present new marketing initiatives
- Build strong relationships with Centre Directors, educators and team members
- Understand individual service communities, strengths and marketing needs
- Motivate service teams to contribute to marketing initiatives and content
- Support community events, enrolment campaigns, training events and local marketing
- Ensure marketing reflects the diversity of the communities KingKids serves
- Utilise AI tools, agents, bots and automation to support marketing workflows, research, content and reporting
- Explore technology to improve efficiency and marketing performance
- Stay informed about emerging marketing trends, platforms and digital tools
- Present innovative ideas and approaches to management
About You
- You'll be comfortable moving between creative work, digital advertising, analysing data and visiting our services to build relationships and source content.
- You'll understand that marketing to a family choosing an early learning service differs from marketing professional development to an educator or leader, and can adapt your communication accordingly.
- You'll confidently take ownership of your work, bring ideas to the table, implement them and use results to determine what comes next.
- While the role has no direct reports, leadership qualities are important. You'll need to positively engage and motivate teams across our organisations to participate in marketing initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants will need to demonstrate:
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Marketing, Media, Communications or a related discipline
- At least one year of relevant full-time professional employment experience, or equivalent
- Professional experience in marketing, communications or digital content
- Experience managing organic social media and paid advertising, including Meta Ads and Google Ads
- Strong content creation, copywriting and editing capabilities
- Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite or similar platforms
- Experience managing or updating website content
- Experience interpreting marketing data and preparing reports
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience developing publications, brochures, signage or similar collateral
- Strong organisational and project management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple brands, services, campaigns and priorities
- Strong stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills
- Confidence presenting recommendations and new initiatives
- Understanding of digital marketing technologies, including AI and automation
- Knowledge or experience within early childhood education and care, or a relevant early childhood qualification
- Understanding of professional learning and marketing to early childhood professionals
- Understanding of child-safe marketing practices within early childhood environments
Child Safety Requirements
As this position regularly works within KingKids services, the successful applicant will be required to:
- Hold or obtain a current Victorian Working with Children Check
- Complete required child safety and mandatory reporting training
- Understand and uphold the Victorian Child Safe Standards
- Demonstrate professional conduct appropriate to early childhood environments
- Comply with requirements relating to child safety, privacy, photography, media consent and confidentiality
