Marketing manager - online marketing

About the Role This is a founding marketing hire at an early-stage AI infrastructure company building a marketplace and platform for reinforcement learning environments. You will join a small, highly technical team in San Francisco to shape brand voice, grow inbound interest, and run memorable events for a deeply technical community. The role is pivotal to translating complex RL and post-training concepts into compelling narratives that resonate with researchers and engineers.
What You'll Do
Own and execute the overall marketing strategy and content calendar across channels.
Lead social media presence on X/Twitter and LinkedIn to grow audience, engagement, and inbound interest.
Ghostwrite high-quality content for founders that communicates product vision, insights, and platform wins.
Translate complex technical product concepts into clear, compelling narratives for a technical audience.
Develop and refine brand voice, positioning, and storytelling across all channels.
Experiment with content formats and double down on what drives measurable results.
Identify high-leverage event opportunities, including conferences, hackathons, and technical community gatherings.
Plan and run high-quality, memorable events that reinforce brand and generate pipeline.
Support the team with event presence, including speaker and talk logistics.
What We're Looking For
~2 to 7 years of experience in marketing, content, or community roles at startups.
~ Strong track record of growing social accounts or company branding from an early stage.
~ A writing portfolio demonstrating the ability to understand technical products and explain them accurately and simply.
~ Proven experience planning and running events, meetups, or community programs end-to-end.
~ Must be AI-native, with an active presence in AI communities and a genuine understanding of the current AI landscape.
~ Background marketing AI/ML, developer tools, or technical platforms; consumer or influencer marketing experience alone is not sufficient.
~ Existing network within RL research, RL engineering, or the broader technical startup community.
~ Familiarity with analytics tools and growth strategies for social and content channels.
~ Comfortable operating independently in a fast-paced, early-stage environment with limited direction.

Compensation & Benefits
Salary range: $100,000 to $150,000 USD annually. Visa sponsorship is available.
Location
On-site in San Francisco, CA. Candidates must be based in San Francisco or willing to relocate, as the role requires regular in-person collaboration.
